Pros:
The best thing about this restaurant is its right next to the canal. It is a restaurant that's open.
Cons:
Cook making excuses why he left the tails on the shrimp. swearing in the kitchen.cold food.no fork
My fiance and I went to dinner at this fair priced restaurant. Most of the other patrons were wearing coats and we ended up keeping ours on as well. The waitress tried to talk my fiance out of the diet selection she made and steered her toward the more fattening more expensive meal she didn't want. I ordered the "ultimate seafood alfredo" My fiance ordered the poached haddock with a side greek salad. The food arrived after a moderate wait. The haddock and salad were done correctly but the shrimp in the pasta and alfredo sauce had the tails left on. I had to dig through the pasta and sauce to locate the shrimp then peel the tails off. The waitress came by to check on us and I complained that I was having to bare hand the sloppy shrimp to take the tails off. She went to the kitchen to relay my complaint to the cook who told her they usually don't use that kind of shrimp but it's all he had. I explained that if I could dive into the alfredo sauce and remove the tails from the messy shrimp, that he could have done so , so much easier before they were put into the sauce. The waitress took my plate and returned a few minutes later with a new one with tail-less shrimp.Yay!...Too bad it was cold and I had no fork to eat it with. I got up and requested a fork at the kitchen and overheard the cook swearing to another employee about the "F-en people who sat on their ass all day and came in and..." I returned to finish my tepid meal. and went to the washroom to wash the alfredo sauce off my hands from the earlier incident.
No paper towel to dry my hands. It seems like they were caught off-guard having to open the restaurant that day.
No heat, no paper towel, bad attitude. Sorry we made you come to work. It won't happen again.
