Pros:
Server was very pleasant and charming - a plus in today's world of bored, apathetic wait staff.
Cons:
Served a "dead" (unopened) mussel in the bouillabaise - poor quality control of food leaving kitchen
We were really looking forward to trying this seafood restaurant as we had heard that it was very good and one of the best in Calgary. Overall, I would say that this restaurant was OK and not the best seafood restaurant I've ever been to.We ordered two appetizers to start: the crabcakes were burnt and obviously were trying to catch up to the calamari which was luke warm, but definitely tender and crispy. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, still moist, tender and succulent. The accompanying vegetables would have been nicer cooked, however. The seafood bouillabaise had a delicious flavour and plenty of fish, scallops and shrimp. Don't advertise crab, though, if only one tiny sliver of claw (chewy and stringy) is thrown in. As stated above, I wasn't impressed that a "dead" (unopened) mussel was also included. It should never have been served. The "decadent" chocolate cake was amazing. Nice and rich, good and dark. Thanks for the referral!I am being very picky in this review simply because I was led to believe that this was the best place to have seafood in Calgary and for the price, I would have expected no less. Take off about $40.00 and I would say this was a great meal. For the $100 + tab, however, it was simply OK.
